From New Year<span class=\"s1\">\u2019<\/span>s Day through the end of the month, several national organizations focused on the health of our eyes and vision are working to spread the word, as well as speed toward finding a cure when it comes to glaucoma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">January is Glaucoma Awareness Month and an especially important time to make sure those who may be at risk are finding the right care to avoid this disease that steals more sight than any other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Did you know that there are over three million patients who suffer from glaucoma in the US alone? Some experts are projecting a 40% jump in this number less than a decade from now. While the numbers are pointing to this end, there are steps we can take to curb this projection.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"p4\"><strong>Awareness is Key in Fighting the Unfair Battle<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palmettoeyeandlaser.com\/glaucoma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Glaucoma<\/a><\/strong> is an irreversible disease that causes blindness in those who suffer from it.
